Hen party

The hen party is a ladies’ event before wedding, celebrating the last days of freedom of single life.

The tradition has derived from England on a basis of Victorian stag tradition (going to party unaccompanied). The Hen is a synonym of a person who makes noisy chat and gaggling. Usually all girls parties looks like a bunch of hens has been released from stable. The hen night traditions are new and started only in 60’s during the sexual revolution when women started demanding the rights to show their bodies and act with them as they wish.

Nowadays the hen do is a colorful, sexy and crazy party where girls relax, communicate with strangers, have some drinks, dance and going wild. Usually hen party has a particular theme – the costume code, for example nurses, pirates, angels, devils, gypsies etc.

It has been estimated, that UK stag and hen industry is worth approx 300 million pounds. It includes party planners, hen and stag party souvenirs, toys, clothing, facilities and even travels abroad.
